Academic Visit & Research of Ecosystem (RoE): Class of 2020 Nature Exploration at Sundak Beach and Wanagama Forest

Gunung Kidul - In order to integrate lecture theory with field practice, students from the Biology Education Study Program Class of 2020 successfully organized an Academic Visit & Research of Ecosystem (RoE). This research and observation activity was carried out in two locations with distinct ecosystems: Sundak Beach and Wanagama Forest.

This activity was designed to provide students with hands-on experience in observing, analyzing, and comparing the biodiversity and abiotic components of a coastal ecosystem (Sundak Beach) and a forest ecosystem (Wanagama Forest). Through the Research of Ecosystem (RoE) method, students were trained to conduct scientific research, collect data, and understand real-world environmental dynamics.

Beyond the academic aspect, this activity also served as a means to strengthen camaraderie and teamwork among the Class of 2020. This outdoor learning experience is expected to foster a love for the environment and an awareness of the importance of nature conservation.

With the completion of this Academic Visit and RoE, it is hoped that students will gain a deeper ecological understanding and be able to apply field research methods effectively as a foundation for their final projects and future careers.
