FIELD OBSERVATION ON ANIMAL MORPHOLOGY AND TAXONOMY: BIOLOGY EDUCATION STUDY PROGRAM, UIN SUNAN KALIJAGA

Yogyakarta – To fulfill course learning outcomes and provide a contextual learning experience, students from the Biology Education Study Program at UIN Sunan Kalijaga conducted a direct field observation at the Gembira Loka Zoo. The activity focused on observing animal morphology and taxonomy.
Through this field activity, students had the opportunity to observe firsthand the physical characteristics, behaviors, and taxonomic classifications of various animal species. This outdoor learning experience was designed to bridge classroom theories with biological facts in the field while honing the students' scientific identification skills.
The observation was carried out smoothly and orderly, adhering to animal observation ethics and the rules enforced at Gembira Loka Zoo. The findings from this observation will serve as evaluation materials and academic assignments for the related course.
