Planetarium Visit: Harmonizing Science and Islam Through Universe Observation
Yogyakarta - In order to enrich students' understanding of the relationship between science and religious values, the Biology Education Study Program successfully organized a Planetarium Visit. This activity was part of the practical agenda for the Integration of Islam and Science course.
This visit was designed to provide students with a visual and scientific experience regarding astronomy, the solar system, and the vastness of the universe. Through the planetarium facilities, students were invited to reflect on ayat kauniyah (signs of Allah's greatness in the universe) that align with modern scientific discoveries.
This activity not only strengthened theoretical understanding from the classroom but also broadened students' perspectives on how Islam views science as a tool to draw closer to the Creator. Interactive discussions on the creation of the universe from both scientific and Quranic perspectives were among the main highlights of this visit.
With the completion of this Planetarium Visit, it is hoped that students will develop a holistic view, where science and religion are not separated, but rather complement each other in explaining the truth.
