Real Action of Caring for Others: Fundraising and Social Service for West Pasaman Earthquake Victims
Yogyakarta – As a form of solidarity and concern for those affected by natural disasters, the Biology Education Study Program successfully organized the Fundraising and Social Service Open Donation for the West Pasaman Earthquake.
This activity involved the management of the Student Association (HMPS) as well as the extended family of Biology Education students. This solidarity action was carried out by taking directly to the streets to hold a fundraiser on March 13, 2022, located at two strategic points: the Ketandan Intersection and the Tugu Jogja Intersection.
Thanks to the enthusiasm and active participation of the students and passing motorists, the total funds raised amounted to Rp 2,213,000. All of the collected donations were distributed directly to the victims through the humanitarian organization Aksi Cepat Tanggap (ACT).
This activity not only served as a means to ease the burden of the disaster victims but also became a learning platform for students to foster a social spirit, empathy, and mutual cooperation.
With the completion of this fundraising activity, it is hoped that it will provide meaningful benefits to the affected people of West Pasaman and strengthen the sense of brotherhood among the Biology Education academic community.
